Harold’s Empire is here!

Very happy to say that the latest AHaroldnn Edwards release is now available for download on Amazon Kindle.

Harold’s Empire is a story about the rise of the uncommon man. When Harold decides to leave school and join a bricklaying gang, instead of aiming for higher education, his parents are concerned and other relatives are quite snooty about him “wasting his chances”. However he develops three priceless assets: the guts to work hard, the ability to ruthlessly exploit opportunities, and the character to earn loyalty from others. His love life doesn’t suffer either!

This is a great read to warm up and cheer up those cold winter evenings.

Ann Edwards other titles include Max and Maisie, 2 plus 2 make plenty : the curious adventures of POJ and Angels Shoot Baskets.

Why write?

frog jpgWhether you are in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) mode; thinking about writing fiction; writing inspirational true life stories. Or perhaps you just want to write reflective words about the world around you .

Whatever gifts writing gives you, just do it. Enjoy it. Luxuriate in it. Writing can be a place of refuge, liberation, therapy, encouragement and solace. It doesn’t have to be online or shared. Just grab a notebook and a pen and enjoy crafting your own words in whatever format makes you feel good.

Writing is calorie free and good for your soul. Reading is nourishing. Writing exercises your imagination and creativity. The process can help you create a happy me-space in your day.

Go on try it…

BBC Blunders 11th February 2015

Not sure who proofreads the BBC ticker tape, before it is published on the live News Show, but there is a “schoolboy error typo” today.

Come on Auntie Beeb, pull your socks up.

The Swan

My proofreading enterprise has been re-branded from Virtual-e-perfection
(also known as V-e-p) to a2z copy editing.

Yesterday, I spent some time updating the brochure web site, hosted by moonfruit and used one of their stock images of a swan as a graphic on the home page.

Moonfruit stock image

One of the many stock images from moonfruit

My daughter asked why I used the swan. My answer was that when a swan is viewed above the surface of the water, it glides gracefully and apparently effortlessly but below the surface of the water, feet are working hard to provide the engine and power for the graceful gliding.  Perhaps this could be a metaphor for the service I provide for my clients?

i.e. I will work hard for my clients to be the unseen engine that will help their processes, business or creative projects become elegant and trouble free.

TaTUM lives on … hello to a2z copy-editing … well done Channing Tatum

Tried and Tested User Manuals – TaTUM was created to reflect the founder’s, Maggie Baldry, proofreading, editing and writing skills. The service was created to help authors, businesses, creative teams, basically anyone who needs a skilful eye to check their work.

The actor, Channing Tatum has been enjoying great success in his chosen career, but the name TaTUM is just not working for development of this commercial enterprise. However, due to my former career as a technical author, I do not want to relinquish my association with TaTUM, so the TaTUM blog will continue and the commercial enterprise is now renamed as a2z copy-editing.

In the meantime and in line with the revision to regulations for Online and distance selling for businesses an updated Service Provision Agreement is available for download as a pdf.

More news about the services supplied by a2z copy-editing will be posted here in due course.

As is customary to say … watch this space.
